Middlesex Professional Services, Inc. (MPS) is one of Connecticut’s largest multi-specialty independent Physician Associations (IPA). MPS has over 300 physician members, including primary care, medical and surgical specialists, and hospital based physicians who are dedicated to providing exceptional medical and surgical care to residents throughout Connecticut. MPS corporate offices are centrally located in Middletown, CT in Middlesex County.
MPS was founded in 1986 and its shareholders are its physician members. MPS physicians currently practice in the Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven and New London Counties in Connecticut. MPS is growing its physician membership as physicians seek a cost-effective organization that represents their interests and delivers real value through the clinical leverage of its physicians and management.
MPS serves as a management, information, and clinical resource for our member physicians. We provide a wide range of services including physician contracting with numerous health plans, group purchasing, technology integration and clinical quality support. We promote the independent practice of medicine, and assist our members in providing quality care to their patients while managing successful practices.
MPS and MPS physicians are actively involve in clinical quality improvement (CQI) activities. Current efforts are focused at identifying, tracking and improving the care for patients with chronic illnesses, as well as working to improve preventive medicine, immunization, diagnostic and screening of patients to improve care and quality.
MPS is also actively engaged in collaborative relationships with other Connecticut physician organizations, healthcare providers, hospitals, academic medical centers, software companies, information technology firms and health plans on projects to measure and improve the quality of healthcare services provided to Connecticut residents.
